as there must be a “transformation of the heart”
to serve the kingdom of Jesus Christ in the LEADNOW mission
trip, disciples of Jesus Christ must be equipped with
a “global worldview.” An expanded worldview
allows Christians to serve the kingdom more effectively
in a pluralistic and transient world that is increasingly
hostile to the Christian faith. With
globalization, each of us must completely understand
the barriers to Christian leadership in a global culture.
Members of the kingdom need to have an expanded worldview
and become educated on cultural differences if they
are to navigate a global climate and become effective
witnesses for Jesus Christ.
Our knowledge of different cultures
will increase our witness and effectiveness for the
kingdom. The primary resource LEADNOW uses for teaching
global worldview is an educational and service-oriented
trip to Israel, in collaboration with Netanya College,
Jerusalem University College and local historians.
In Israel, participants are taught
how religion and culture often clash in a political
climate. At the completion of the trip, participants
are educated on the varied and more numerous cultures
that exist in the United States and the contemporary
issues they present to the Christian faith. Participants
are offered effective approaches to navigate domestic
culture and increase the effectiveness of their Christian
witness as they continue to build their
“Life of Mission”
plan.
