YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY At LEADNOW, our goal is to have church congregations become more “intentional” in the discipleship and development of young adults. The most critical area for the church today is with “twentysomethings,” young adults ages 18-29. Here are some of the reasons why: Most “twentysomethings” disengage from active participation in the Christian faith during their young adult years - and often beyond that. In total, six out of ten “twentysomethings” were involved in a church during their teen years, but have failed to translate that into active spirituality during their early adulthood.
The Church as a whole has not done a good job of discipleship and spiritual development with this age group. There are many reasons for this including generation gaps, worship styles, postmodern culture, economic and denominational factors. LEADNOW provides congregations with the discipleship venues, curriculum and the opportunity to develop a strong ministry for its young adults. We will meet with your congregation to outline the details of a program that will utilize a combination of missions, service, education and discipleship through mentoring. The program will engage your more mature members with young adults in such a way that a natural bond is formed through serving together. More importantly, your older members can utilize the life planning materials and curriculum of LEADNOW as a platform to launch your young adults into a life of mission. In doing so, they also become trusted friends and mentors. By implementing this program for young adults, a congregation will ensure that its future members will be engaged in the activities of the church through their prayers, presence, gifts and service for decades to come. Stewarding our young adults is the most important thing the church can do!
